Discovering the Wilderness of Mauritius.
We leave behind the traffic of Port Louis and maneuver our wayΒ through a small winding road that leads us uphill for a good twentyΒ minutes. At an unassuming orange-colored FrenchΒ villa where we pull up, theΒ warm hospitality of Jean-Michel and his wife JoanΒ awaits me. WeΒ exchange niceties and my request for water quickly gets upgraded to aΒ rum punch. I’m in Mauritius after all, and it doesnt matter that it’sΒ just after mid day or that I’ve just landed here after a sleepless 7.5 hourΒ flight from Delhi! Iβve been called a storyteller, writer, photographer, digital nomad, “sustainability influencer,” social entrepreneur, solo traveller, vegan, sustainable tourism consultant and environmentalist. But in my heart, Iβm just a girl who believes that travel – if done right – has the power to change us and the world we live in.
