Now isn’t the time, is it?

It’s been a really long time since I blogged. I blame it on the unending projects, end-of-college celebrations and upcoming exams. I can’t delve into the details of any. Yawn.

Anyway, it’s that time of the year again, when I can think of so many brilliant things to do, except that right now, there is no time to explore them. I am supposed to shut all doors of imagination, silence all inspiring voices, confine myself to a bunch of textbooks, and study for them dreadful exams. Oh, the pain that the human mind can be inflicted with.

However, when next week gets over, all creative juices will freeze, and all motivation will die. Boredom will take over and haunt me. The story of my life, and perhaps yours. My friend suggests that the conscious acceptance of this phenomenon might just be the next Murphy’s law.

In any case, here’s the list of things I can think of doing now, instead of studying game theory and international economics:

  1. Watch the imdb top 250 movies and the top 100 most inspiring movies.
  2. Start working on my first book.
  3. Create an original-content video blog.
  4. Make ambitious travel plans.
  5. Blog more, read more blogs.
  6. Read all the books on my I read list.
  7. Create a new record for sleeping.

    Wishful thinking. Sigh.

After 7 years of quitting my full-time corporate job and travelling the world, I've written a book - called The Shooting Star - about my journey. This book of untold travel stories charts my adventures from the cubicle to the road, and from small-town India to remote corners of the globe. Limited copies are now available for pre-order on Amazon and Flipkart. Drop me a note if you end up pre-ordering yours today! Connect with me on Instagram/Twitter @shivya.

    1. I like the order. Sleeping would be heavenly once you get through even half of those. In fact that’s what you should do, have it twice on 😀

    2. I do 4 everyday, which is commuting from home to office. and eventhough I can never achieve 7, I am willing to do it in parts everyday 🙂

lists are great! even if you dont ever meet up those ambitious plans, its nice to see them all there and wonder how and when and what way you’ll get there. and at least you can give it a shot! 🙂 This is the time, after all!

you know what, you can do 4 really easily. Come visit me!!

    4. Ah, a bucket list! Very interesting! 😀
How about dancing with the dolphins and standing high on the rocks in rain and getting high? 😀

    5. @create a new record for sleeping…….best of luck…….there is nothing more enjoyable than sleeping for long long durations….. 😉

    6. Quite a few of the books you mentioned have been on my must-read list for years. You’ve inspired me to finally read them. Once I’m done with my exams, that is. Funny how all these grand plans only spring to mind when exams are round the corner 🙂
